The 16-inch Cobra XXL (model 87 01 560) offers the power and comfort of water pump pliers while being lighter and providing a greater gripping capacity than comparable pipe wrenches. It can grip a 4-1/2-inch pipe coupling and weighs about the same as 2-inch pipe wrenches, which have much lower gripping capacity. Its 22-inch size makes it the biggest pliers in the range.

The unique self-locking adjustment and induction-hardened gripping teeth ensure that once set, it stays in place. There’s no slipping and no need to waste strength squeezing the pliers, improving operator safety and work efficiency.

Cobra’s jaw configuration grips flat, round, hex, or square objects and helps prevent nut burring, avoiding damage to pipes, nuts, or bolts. The redesigned adjustment provides 30% more gripping capacity than previous models.

The patented push-button system maintains the jaw setting and ensures the correct opening every time. Adjustment is easily done with one hand, even in confined spaces.

Cobra water pump pliers are constructed from chrome vanadium electric steel, a high-alloy, oil-tempered steel that ensures long service life. The thin head design allows access to tight spaces without changing tools.

With safety as a priority, Knipex includes a built-in pinch guard to help prevent hand injuries such as blood blisters.
